Thanks for the honest write up fren. You said "I was gonna die with a bottle in my hand, that was always the plan." I recall with vivid recollection, sitting in my studio apartment on a western mountain. I was in front of my typewriter with a rocks glass in my hand doing what I have dubbed, "my shitty Bukowski routine." I looked at that glass and said, "I'm gonna die this way, might be a long ride, but this is how it's gonna go." Completely resigned to alcohlic defeat, and completely ok with that resignation.
That was 15 years ago. This past July I acheived 6 years off the sauce. I dance the 12step too. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your brother, but you carry the message in his memory. Much love.
