Good info here. I have an above ground pool that we no longer use. Apparently turning these into gardens is a thing. Have you heard about this? I'd need to bring in a bunch of soil to fill the bottom, but it'd be safe from deer and other critters.

I have not hear of that, it’s a good idea but don’t fill it up all the way, it may bust the lining. Definitely be careful where you get your soil from. I’ve heard of nightmares where people brought in soul filled with lots of seeds or pests. I would do research and find a good source of quality compost in bulk.

We ended up scrapping the project because the area the pool is in just doesn't get enough sun. Boo!!

It’s also going to be hard to get the soil in there, you will need some sort of ramp for wheel barrows to run up and dump. Unless it’s some way for a dump truck to back up to, maybe the pool isn’t to tall it might be able to dump straight in. It sounds like a job right up farmers ally! Let me know if you need help coming up with how to tackle the job! Keep me posted.

This is giving me PTSD about soil classification labs from my geotech courses.

Yes, but that's because I started my career as a geotechnical engineer! Thermodynamics on the other hand...
