How to become a Potato Prince in 69 days
Welcome Farmanons,
I want to cover a seemingly popular gardening method for potatoes, inspired by this tweet.
The Potato Box
So what are we looking at here?
Basically it’s a small raised bed with some good garden soil with a few potatoes slightly buried.
4 pieces of 2”x 2” wood held upright by pieces of 2”x6” wood and screwed together.
As the potato sprouts begin to grow you add another set of 2x6 boards and fill it with more dirt to cover everything but the top of the sprout.
Eventually you end up with a box full of potatoes.
Simply unscrew the boards and harvest!
There were many comments on this method let’s talk about them.
Some people claimed you wouldn’t be able to get 100 pounds of potatoes in this one box… to that I say, maybe. You never know!
Others were wondering what type of potatoes are needed for this method and asking how to build this thing so I figured I would go through it briefly.
