Honeybee Check, Garden Update, and My Plant Wishlist
Welcome Anon,
Things are starting to buzz around here with spring weather coming earlier than usual. Every day, there’s more activity and life out there.
Honeybee Check-In
Yesterday we went into our beehives to check everything out. Man, are they doing good! I was shocked at how much they have been building up their numbers due to the new sources of pollen that have sprouted up everywhere over the past couple of weeks.
Around here, the bradford pear trees are in full bloom, and the fields are covered in “False Garlic” which is a small white flower. I haven’t been able to notice if bees are actually gathering nectar from these tiny flowers. Even if they don’t like these small flowers in the field, everywhere you look, there are signs of new blooms.
Pollen = Honey
This is really good news, because I’m starting to run low on honey. I still have a few gallons but it’s going fast! With the honeybees increasing their worker numbers, and flower blooms popping up all over, Honey harvest is just a few months away!
Why buy Farmer’s Honey instead of practically anywhere else?
Because Farmer’s Honey is real, raw, and straight from the hive. It tastes so much better than anything you’ll buy in the grocery store because it’s not imported from foreign countries. It’s pure honey, that’s it, many large suppliers cut theirs with corn syrup (tastes like ass).
Not to mention you’re supporting a real, small honey farmer. An actual based, family man, who cares about shipping you quality products.
The Glass Quart Jar is by far the best selling Farmer Product, you get over 3 pounds of Raw Honey in a glass jar shipped right to your door.
The second best selling item is the Mint Soap Bar, this thing is amazing. I use it every day, leaves me feeling refreshed and smelling great. Trust me, or others.

My Plant Wishlist
I want to share some plants from my partners at Nature Hills Nursery items that I’ve been wanting to add to my place. Hopefully I can get some of these going sometime this year.
Strawberries - Who doesn’t want a fresh, chemical free source of strawberries at the house? I’ve grown these in the past and they aren’t the easist plants to grow to get an actuall harvest of fruit. It’s good to research which ones do well in your climate.
Persimmon - a great tree to add anywhere from zones 7-10. This variety has been grafted with a Fuyu persimmon variety and will provide large juicy orange fruit by the basket load.
Blueberry - you can never have too many blueberry bushes, delicious snacks and easy to store in the freezer. This brightwell variety is great for zones 6-9.
Ginkgo Biloba - this tree is one of my favorites. The color is amazing, and even more, the leaves are a powerful herb that can be used in medicinal tinctures and more! Just look at this thing.
5. Crape Myrtle - This is a very common shrub in my area. I’ve never really had much interest in these until last fall. Most of the flowers and blossoms had vanished, but the crape myrtles were in full bloom for quite some time into the fall. They are a good source of pollen and nectar for honeybees, therefore, I’m interested in adding some to my land. I like this white flower blossom.
Hibiscus - These are beatiful flowers that will add eye popping color to your yard. Drought tolerant and hardy. I’ve heard of people growing these in green houses and selling them for $10 per flower at the farmer’s market! I may try this one day.
Ordering Trees Online
Ordering trees is just about as easy as it gets when it comes to planting trees. I prefer it over going to a nursery, because you don’t have to worry about transporting the trees back home.
There are two ways your trees will ship from an online dealer. Bare Root or Burlap Ball.
Bare root is ideal because it’s lighter, easier to handle, and easier to plant. Burlap root ball will come with potting soil or dirt still surrounding the roots, the burlap or material holding the dirt will need to be removed before planting the tree.
Here is a rough video I made while planting some Muscadines in my garden area. It shows you the basics on planting trees/bushes.
Garden Update
Well I got the garden planted last weekend. I added my Brassica Plugs plugs from Hoss tools and it looks really good! Check it out!
I’ll hopefully have 20 healthy cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli plants ready to harvest in 4 months, yeah they take a long time.
I realize these pictures are not great quality, I uploaded the smaller versions to make the email size smaller.
Get your brassica plugs here before they’re gone.
I noticed that Hoss Tools is also selling tomato plugs 👀
I hope ya’ll have a great weekend.
